The Indianapolis Colts are excited about the upcoming 2024 NFL season. After coming up just one score short of making the playoffs last year, they are looking to finally work their way back into the postseason. Anthony Richardson will be a big part of deciding whether or not that happens for the franchise.
Richardson, who was drafted with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, was forced to miss most of his rookie year due to a season-ending shoulder injury. Hopefully, he’ll be able to remain healthy in his second season.
During the four games that he did play in 2023, Richardson completed 59.5 percent of his pass attempts for 577 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception. He also picked up 136 yards and four touchdowns on the ground.
There is a lot of optimism surrounding the young quarterback, but he needs to stay on the field.

Needless to say, this video has gotten Colts fans even more excited about the upcoming season. In his limited game action last year, Richardson showed flashes of star potential. Fans are hoping to see him build off of that, stay healthy, and put together a big-time second year.
Standing in at 6-foot-4 and almost 250 pounds, Richardson is big and athletic. He’s an elite dual-threat quarterback, although the Indianapolis Colts may need to scale back how much they use him in the ground game. Injuries are always an occurrence with quarterbacks who run too much.
Chris Ballard and the front office went out this offseason and re-signed Michael Pittman Jr. to a long-term contract. They also drafted Adonai Mitchell in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Richardson has more weapons to work with and he has a full offseason of work and development under his belt. It seems likely that we’ll see an improved version of the young quarterback.
All of that being said, it will be interesting to see what kind of season Anthony Richardson is able to produce. He has through the roof potential and a massive arm. If he can stay healthy, the Indianapolis Colts may very well end up being a playoff contender in the AFC.
