The Sabres should target this Jets forward this offseason.
The Winnipeg Jets will need to be watched very closely this offseason. The Central Division club has several notable free agents with some big decisions to make. However, we have confirmation that one of their top free agents won’t have a new deal with the club by July 1.
In a recent article for The Athletic, NHL insider Pierre LeBrun reported that Winnipeg Jets forward Tyler Toffoli will be testing the free-agent market. After a strong season, this is understandable, as he is set to land a nice payday.
Given the Buffalo Sabres’ need for a veteran top-six scoring winger, Tyler Toffoli must be on their radar this summer. He would be a massive addition to their roster and give them a proven scorer to work with.
Toffoli, 32, would be an excellent linemate for Tage Thompson, as the pair could create some real magic. However, he also could be a good sniper for Dylan Cozens to work with on the second line. In either scenario, the Sabres’ top six would improve dramatically by a Toffoli addition.
Toffoli would also give the Sabres a player with a Stanley Cup on their resume. This is certainly needed, as the Sabres must break their 13-year postseason drought in 2024-25.
