Jackson, who signed a four-year deal with the Bears back in 2020 that was worth $58.4 million has become one of the many players looking for a job before the start of the 2024 NFL campaign several months from now. The 30-year-old Jackson is quite familiar with Green Bay Packers fans, as he has played his entire NFL career so far in the NFC North. Is there a chance that Jackson continue playing in the same division but with a different team? That remains to be seen, but he should at least generate some interest among teams looking to add experience and depth to their secondary.

Whitehair, on the other hand, just did not seem to play well enough in 2023 to force the Bears into keeping him on the roster. Plus, he will turn 32 in July.

By parting ways with Jackson and Whitehair, the Bears have carved extra space in their cap room, freeing up $21.71 million. The Bears can use that to shore up their roster ahead of the 2024 season when they will also be looking to top the Green Bay Packers and the rest of the NFC North division.
