Packers GM Fires Serious Warning To Players After 2023 Success

Even with the youngest roster in the NFL, the Green Bay Packers managed to defy expectations and make the playoffs this year. But for Brian Gutekunst, there’s no reason to rest easy for the players when the next season starts.

This season, though, Jordan Love’s breakout performance left everybody impressed. After Aaron Rodgers was traded to the New York Jets, the Packers’ star quarterback rose up to the challenge and led Green Bay into the playoffs.

Green Bay Packers QB Jordan Love Gets 100% Real What Makes Matt LaFleur A 'Great Coach'

With Love turning 26 later this year, there’s a lot of upside in his future. Even with growing pains, such as his costly mistake in their loss against the San Francisco 49ers, the talent and leadership he exhibited all season long is reason enough to buy high on Love’s stock in the future.

Even with Love performing spectacularly, as well as other players on the roster, Matt LaFleur said that nothing is guaranteed next season for the team.

Speaking before the media, general manager Brian Gutekunst reiterated LaFleur’s message to the players.

“Every year is a different year. The big thing for (the rookies) going into Year 2 is understanding just because they had some success in Year 1 doesn’t mean that their spots are safe, and that they better be working and be ready to compete once we get rolling. Again, their future is bright, but it’s really kind of what they do from here on out,” Gutekunst said.

Although the Packers exceeded expectations this season, Gutekunst’s warning aimed to keep everyone on their toes by not resting on their laurels. It also shifts everyone’s focus to improve as a new opportunity with new challenges are ahead for the team.

With the upcoming offseason, the Packers plan to improve via the draft or signing free agents to improve the roster. In any case, next season will be one to look forward to for Green Bay fans.
